Conor McGregor is surely seen by many as the face of UFC. The Irishman has amassed a sizeable fan base over the years as a result of his stellar MMA career. Getting a shout-out from the ‘Notorious’ himself would be a dream come true for any MMA fan.
McGregor never fails to encourage his fans when they are going through a difficult time.
Let’s take a look at three occasions where McGregor communicated with his followers and made their day.
3) When McGregor promised a fan who was suffering
McGregor recently made a heart-warming gesture to one of his young Twitter followers. A fan asked the Irishman to give a shoutout to his son Luca who recently underwent brain surgery. When McGregor learned of Luca’s condition, he promised to take the young fan to a UFC event in the future.
McGregor took to Twitter and wrote, “What’s up Luca, my man! Stay strong young brother! Heal up and we will get you out to a live @ufc event in the near future.”
Luca was also given a pair of gloves and some merchandise from McGregor’s FAST fitness collection. He wished Luca a speedy recovery and wrote, “Get this young man a pair of @McGregorFast gloves and some @McGregorFast merchandise! A real fighter, Luca!”
2) McGregor delighted fan going through surgery
McGregor sent Kash Zolciak-Biermann, the son of former NFL player Kroy Biermann, a special video message in December. Kash allegedly had reconstructive plastic surgery after being scarred by a dog bite.
Kim Zolciak Biermann, Kash’s mother, approached McGregor’s team for a motivating message to keep her son strong. The Irishman recorded a video praising Kash for persevering in the face of adversity.
McGregor said, “I heard you had a match with a dog and you won. So congratulations on that victory. I plan on securing my own victory on January 23rd. I’m here now, isolated away getting my work in. Taking inspiration from your victory Kash, thank you so much. My man!”
After her son’s complete recovery in 2020, Biermann shared McGregor’s heartfelt message:
1) When wheelchair-bound fan inspired McGregor
McGregor paid a touching tribute to a paralysed young fan named Ian O’Connell over his social media accounts in 2018. He caught McGregor’s attention while appearing on Ireland’s The Late Late Show.
The former UFC double champion told O’Connell that the young fan’s message on national television “blew him down,” saying, “If you can’t stand up, stand down!”
McGregor also claimed that O’Connell was an inspiration for the men and women of Ireland.
