Early life

Aaron Charles Rodgers was born on 2 December, 1983, in Chico, California. Aaron attended the Pleasant Valley High School. It was there that he first started as a quaterback.

Rodgers was the Golden Bears’ starting quarterback in the sixth game of the 2003 season (University of California, Berkeley). He has set multiple school records during his time there.

He still retains the Cal career record for the lowest percentage of passes intercepted, at 1.95 per cent. After an excellent junior season, in which he threw 24 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions, he decided not to play his senior year to pursue the 2005 NFL Draft.

After Favre’s announcement for retirement in 2008, Rodgers was promoted to starting quarterback. He later helped lead the Packers to victory in Super Bowl XLV in 2011.

He was named Super Bowl MVP for his key part in his team’s championship victory. Despite not having won a second Super Bowl, Rodgers has been one of the finest players in professional football.

He has the most straight games without throwing multiple interceptions (41 games in a row) and the lowest regular season interception percentage among current quarterbacks.

He is also one of only seven quarterbacks in NFL history to pass for over 1,000 yards in a single playoff, and one of just five quarterbacks in NFL history to have a passer rating of at least 110 through many seasons of play.

Rodgers lived in Suamico, Wisconsin, a northern suburb of Green Bay, until 2017. He spends the offseason in Los Angeles, California. He also has a home in Del Mar, California.

Rodgers and the Packers agreed to a 5-year, $110 million contract extension in 2013, making him the highest-paid athlete in NFL history. Rodgers agreed to a four-year, $134 million contract extension with the Packers in 2018.

Approximately $103 million of his contract was guaranteed, with $80 million due by March 2019. In comparison, Brett Favre made a total of $135 million throughout the course of his career (on the field).
