Ashleigh Barty is a well-known professional tennis player and former cricketer from Australia. On June 23, 2019, she also became the first woman to lead the WTA rankings. Barty is a multi-sport athlete who has competed for Australia in cricket, tennis, and golf.

She developed an early interest in sports, notably tennis and netball. Jim Joyce was the girl’s first coach, and he praised her for her remarkable coordination and accuracy. Joyce set out to teach Ashley, despite the fact that she was only five years old.

Ash is right-handed and plays the left side with a two-handed backhand. She has a great serve and can play on any court; however, she prefers fast grass courts. She excels in both singles and doubles competitions.

Barty made her ITF junior debut at the age of 13 and won her maiden title. Her statistics were already impressive at the time: in five events, the Australian had 24 wins and only two losses.

Ash competed in her maiden Grand Slam junior competition at home in 2011, and she lost her opening match. She wasn’t discouraged, though, and in the summer, she competed in Junior Wimbledon, winning the major trophy in singles.
