British GP: Max Verstappen & Lewis Hamilton are talking again after controversial Silverstone race

It has now been almost a week since Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen crashed in Silverstone, ending the Dutchman’s race.

While this is an extended rivalry, there is always the possibility of things taking a turn for the worse between the two drivers.

Fortunately, there are rumors that the two drivers have taken out the time to talk to each other to clear the air on the controversial incident that took place at the British Grand Prix.

However, there is still almost no information about this peace deal.

A source confirmed the two drivers spoke

Lewis Hamilton had mentioned that he would be getting in touch with his rival as it is important to maintain respect.

A source did confirm that the two drivers have spoken to each other. But we do not know who called whom and what they talked about.

We also do not know if there was an apology involved or even the mood of the chat.

Considering that the tensions are high between the two drivers, a repeat of this incident might just happen again.

We can only hope that the two drivers have sorted it out between them.

Competition nothing new for Hamilton

Hamilton has been dominating the sport for almost eight years now. He has faced competition from the likes of Fernando Alonso, then Sebastian Vettel, and even his own teammate, Nico Rosberg.

While there are only a few drivers who come close to the competition put forth by Verstappen, Hamilton has stated that he had his most difficult bout with Vettel.

At that time, Vettel was racing for Ferrari. The two drivers even had the infamous collision in Baku in 2017.

Verstappen vs Hamilton

Right from the first race in Austria, it was not difficult to decipher that Max had got into Lewis’ head. This was evident from the Brit’s team radio frustration.

Silverstone was just an outlet for both the drivers.

Journalists went on to state: “The shackles were off, the battle was personal and this was now a rivalry for the ages.”

Mercedes boss, Toto Wolff also said, “These two are not giving each other an inch.”

This just showed how intense the battle was.
