Liverpool are looking formidable in Europe and they will be aiming to get their hands on the Champions League once again. After all, it could well be the final part of an unprecedented quadruple that is completed.

In the first leg of their semi-final tie against Villarreal, Liverpool were at their swashbuckling best and they could count themselves unfortunate that they won’t be heading to Spain with more than a 2-0 lead.

Sadio Mane netted as he took his tally to 14 in the Champions League knockout stages, equalling Didier Drogba’s record for most goals scored by African players.

Under the Anfield lights, the atmosphere was vociferous as the Kop faithful were treated to some irresistible football. The Champions League represents the holy grail for Europe’s biggest clubs and the Merseyside outfit are already England’s most successful side in the competition, with six European titles to their name.

Liverpool will be looking to claim the Champions League for the first time since 2019 when they beat Tottenham 2-0 in the final and it could be another all-English final if Manchester City can finish off the job against Real Madrid.

It would be a fascinating affair if Liverpool were to take on City as both have been the main protagonists in the Premier League this term and they have been heads and shoulders above their rivals.

Of course, all roads lead to Paris and the Champions League final on May 28, and as always, it will be an unmissable occasion. En route to the semi-finals, Liverpool have swatted aside the competition with relative ease. Perhaps Inter Milan provided the stiffest challenge in the quarter-finals as they slipped to a 1-0 defeat at home but still managed to progress to the last four with a 2-1 aggregate.

It is somewhat unsurprising that Liverpool is currying a lot of favour in the betting markets as the Reds are trading at less than EVENS with LeoVegas to win the Champions League this season. Although this bookmaker has rather short odds on Liverpool to lift the trophy, you will be able to tap into the LeoVegas bonus code for sport, which is great for new players as it consists of a profit boost.

Everything is looking rather rosy for the Reds at the moment, especially with the recent news that Jurgen Klopp has put pen to paper on a new contract that will see him stay at Liverpool until 2026.

Initially, his contract was set to expire in 2024, but the club have shown their ambition by keeping hold of him. Klopp has achieved a lot since he took over the reins at Liverpool in 2015 and he is arguably one of the greatest managers of his generation.

We are blessed to have Klopp and Pep Guardiola both managing in the Premier League and if Klopp could add a second Champions League title to his name, it would elevate him to new heights as a Liverpool manager. For now, we will just have to wait and see what happens over the next month.
