The driver from Monte Carlo had some outstanding performances back in 2020 as he finished several races in the upper end of the grid.

The 2021 season has seen Leclerc claim back-to-back pole positions in Monaco and Baku driving a car that is clearly not the fastest.

As a result, many consider him to be at par with Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.

Leclerc at same level as Hamilton?

In an interview with Le’quipe, he was asked if he was at the same level as Hamilton. He denied being at his level and stated that he is just focused on himself.

“I don’t think about it at all. Lewis has done so much for this sport. I can’t compare myself to him. He achieved so much success,” he said.

“I just try to focus on being the best version of myself. I don’t look at others, to be honest,” he concluded.

Ferrari at par with Mercedes and Red Bull

Ferrari have been having a tough time since the start of 2020 with Leclerc maxing out his car to hide its lack of pace.

However, in 2021, the outfit has built a highly competitive car as compared to what they had the previous season.

The next season will see the implementation of various regulations which could prove as an opportunity in disguise for Ferrari and Leclerc.
