The two outfits have been going back and forth trying to take swipes at each other and playing mind games.
Mercedes has been trying their best to get Red Bull’s rear wing banned, while Red Bull has been trying to hire top members of Mercedes’ engine department.
Red Bull and Mercedes relationship turns sour
Both teams are using the media to communicate with each other.
Red Bull team boss Christian Horner seems to think that Mercedes, who has been dominant all this while, finally has some competition.
“Toto has had it far too easy for the last seven years,” he discloses in an interview with The New York Times. “It’s about time he had something to do.”
F1 finally seeing competitive fights
Horner is also glad that Formula 1 is finally seeing some intense fights.
“I hope it goes all the way to the wire. That’s what the fans want to see, and what they have been crying out for, although I don’t know if my nerves could take it,” he concluded.
