The T20 World Cup 2021 will be held in the United Arab Emirates in the months of October and November of this year (UAE). When they take the field in the UAE’s deserts, all of the teams will be contending for the trophy.
This year’s T20 World Cup is expected to be won by India, regarded one of the favourites. Sunil Gavaskar, a former Indian batting legend, has chosen his team for the crucial tournament.
Gavaskar left out the left-hander Shikhar Dhawan out of the squad, instead naming Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as the openers. After that, Gavaskar named three Mumbai Indians players to his team. According to Gavaskar, Suryakumar Yadav will bat third, followed by the Pandya brothers, Hardik and Krunal, in the middle order. Gavaskar went on to say why Krunal Pandya should be a part of the Indian team.
“He’s an all-rounder, a very experienced player, has performed very well in the IPL for the past many years so he surely deserves a place. He’s left-handed, which is an advantage as well,” said Gavaskar as reported by India.com.

Shreyas Iyer, the right-handed, was also left out of Sunil Gavaskar’s squad. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar were the other two all-rounders selected in Gavaskar’s squad.
Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, and Mohammed Shami are the five pacers in Gavaskar’s team. Yuzvendra Chahal is the lone specialist spinner who made Gavaskar’s team.
On the 24th of October 2021, India will play Pakistan in the first match of the T20 World Cup 2021 edition in Dubai. The fans of both teams are looking forward to this match.
