Daniel Ricciardo has a new racing format in mind for Monaco – “Just like a shootout for three days”

McLaren’s popular YouTube series – ‘Mclaren: Unboxed’ has released their British GP edition and fans could not be more excited.

The series gives fans a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes action that takes place during the Grand Prix.

After a momentous weekend in Silverstone, the papaya team released a video summarizing the entire experience.

A P5 finisher for Daniel Ricciardo led to a change in mind for the Australian.

What did Ricciardo say?

Ricciardo revealed how he loves to race on major tracks and eventually brought up Monaco.

We should have a qualifying format in Monaco. Just a three-day qualifying. Best lap from the whole three days wins. It’s just like a shootout for three days,” he explained, much proud of his idea.

But looking at the mixed reactions towards the sprints, Ricciardo’s opinion might just fly into the wind for now.

In the video, we get to see Ricciardo’s blooming smile after an incredible race. However, he is hungry for more.

The home edition of the series was an astounding 30 mins long and was highly enjoyable considering that there was a lot to cover.

The team faced a decent sprint qualifying prior to a well-paced qualifying session. The sprints were a testing field for the two drivers but they managed to qualify P6 and P7.

During the race, Lando Norris had a great pace barring an unlucky delayed pitstop.

Ricciardo, who had his season debut with the team, was able to stay in the top half of the timesheets.

2022 car, a highlight

One more reason as to why the series was exciting was the unveiling of the new 2022 F1 car. Lando and Daniel even take out a moment to examine the new machine.

The other highlight was the packed stadium, which surely impressed a smitten Lando. The orange-filled grandstands were surely a sight to see.

With the upcoming race in Hungary, we can expect the outfit to put up an action-packed performance.
