AlphaTauri second team to get renamed ahead of upcoming season as Red Bull vies for ‘closer partnership’ to sister team

AlphaTauri is set to become the second team on the F1 grid to get rebranded ahead of the upcoming season after Sauber’s rename earlier this month. AlphaTauri, who are Red Bull’s sister team in the sport, is set to be called Visa CashApp Racing Bulls.

The plan to rebrand the team has been well underway since last season, with Red Bull technical advisor Helmut Marko confirmed this major overhaul during the mid-season break.

“There will be new sponsors and also a new name,” Marko said.

“The orientation is clear: based on Red Bull Racing, as far as the regulations allow. Do-it-yourself constructions are the wrong way.”

AlphaTauri will finally undergo a change in its identity after four years with the AlphaTauri clothing line branding. Fans have been keen to unravel what their new title will be for a while now.

This quest has achieved further clarity ever since Red Bull reportedly purchased the domain starting ‘VisaCashAppRB’. They also registered the domain starting ‘RacingBulls’.

With the teams moving closer together this season, their new name is being touted as Visa CashApp Racing Bulls, with financial necessity of two title sponsors likely to feature heavily on the new livery.

Both Christian Horner and Marko are hopeful that their strategic alliance will enable AlphaTauri to become more competitive this year following a challenging season last term. The team was able to save face in the last five races, finishing amongst the points on four occasions to leapfrog Haas and Alfa Romeo at the bottom of the constructors’ standings.
