Charles Leclerc makes epic blunder while discussing contract that ridicules Ferrari suspense tactic

There seems to be very little clarity over the future of Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, who have both seemed to be on the verge of getting contract extensions from Ferrari, only for that to not have materialised so far.

However, all of that might have just changed rather dramatically following Leclerc’s inadvertent disclosure about details regarding his future while being in conversation with NextGen Auto.

While most drivers are pretty careful when it comes to mentioning details even about the status of their current contract, Leclerc seemed to completely lose the plot and gave pointers with respect to how things may pan out in the future.

“As a driver, it is very difficult to know exactly where each team stands. I focus on myself and on Ferrari,” he said.

“I haven’t had a chance to drive the (2026) car in the simulator yet, and as soon as I do, I’ll be able to say a little more. But yes, at the moment, it is very difficult to have a clear picture of the development or anything.”

Fans immediately caught on to the fact that Leclerc had perhaps divulged a bit too much.

They took to social media immediately to express their reaction over this slip up made by Leclerc, especially because Ferrari had done so well to keep the suspense going all through the year.

While one fan compared Leclerc to Tom Holland owing to his (in)ability to keep a secret, another said that it was a clever move by the Monegasque to ensure that there was at least some excitement left in F1.

Meanwhile, Carlos Sainz has been in red-hot form recently and there appears to be a far better future at Ferrari for the Spaniard than some were predicting a few months ago.

With Leclerc’s latest blip and Sainz proving that he belongs at the highest level, it is fair to assume that Ferrari won’t take much longer to announce contract extensions for both drivers.
