F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali gave his thoughts on Ferrari signing a “great prospect” in Mick Schumacher, saying it would be a great move.
Domenicali and Schumacher both have Ferrari roots. While the Italian was sporting director of the Maranello outfit back in the day, the driver is the son of Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher.
The German is also Ferrari reserve driver, something that is seen by fans as the first step towards a potential Prancing Horse seat. Until then, he will be racing for Haas, and will hope that he has a car that allows him to showcase all his abilities.
Nevertheless, Domenicali gave his thoughts on Ferrari signing a “great prospect” in Schumacher, saying it would be something everyone wanted to see.
“Mick is doing his job very well,” the F1 boss told Sport1, as quoted by Sky Sports Germany.
“In 2021, however, he suffered from not having a car with which he could prove his abilities. I really hope that the new Haas will give him the chance to show his talent.”

“I had the privilege of working with Michael at Ferrari and of course Mick in a Ferrari would be a great prospect for the future,” the former Ferrari man continued.
“At the moment, Ferrari has two fantastic drivers in Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, who are also still young. But when Mick is ready and an opportunity presents itself to him, he will take it.
“I have already spoken to Ralf (Schumacher, Mick’s uncle) about David (Schumacher, Mick’s cousin) and I am glad to see that he is developing well. I think he has a good career ahead of him too – and for the German fans that would be great, of course.”
