Ferrari pokes fun at itself after Singapore GP extension news – “How can you like and dislike a tweet at the same time?”

Ferrari poked fun at themselves after hearing the Singapore GP extension news, jokingly suggesting they weren’t fully on board with it.

F1 will return to Singapore after a two-year break. They couldn’t go to the east due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but they will now land in Marina Bay after the unforeseen hiatus.

Fans reacted positively to the contract extension, hailing the return of the super-fast and exciting race. The extension has been signed till 2028, and it has delighted everyone except one party.

Ferrari poked fun themselves after hearing the Singapore GP extension news, recalling their string of mixed results there. They have won three times, but have also suffered harrowing defeats like the one in 2017.

Having received the news, the Italian outfit took to their social media accounts and posted, “How do you like and dislike a tweet at the same time?”

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali revealed his reaction to the deal with Singapore being extended, saying he was simply delighted that fans would be getting seven years of blistering racing.

“I am delighted that Formula 1 will continue to race in Singapore for another seven years,” he said.  

“The plans that are in place to reduce the carbon footprint of the event are impressive and align with our plans to be Net Zero Carbon as a sport by 2030 and I look forward to continuing our successful relationship with Singapore GP and the Singapore Tourism Board as Formula 1 returns to this incredible city.”

Singapore has played host to some memorable moments over the years. In fact, there is an entire highlight reel hailing from Marina Bay. From Lewis Hamilton’s astonishing and record-breaking ‘greatest lap of all time’ qualifying performance to Sebastian Vettel’s win in 2019, the place always delivers when F1 pays it a visit.
