Former Mercedes CEO Nick Fry joins McLaren

McLaren has recently been actively recruiting new staff to aid in their objective of rebuilding the company. Nick Fry, a well-known figure in the Formula One world, has been named Non-Executive Chairman of McLaren Applied.

Fry will not be a member of the team because they sold the engineering company to Greybull Capital in August of this year.

Toto Wolff was preceded by Nick Fry at Mercedes. He was previously the director of BAR F1. At Brawn GP, he worked alongside Ross Brawn and stayed with the team as it evolved into Mercedes.

As a result, the former CEO will contribute a lot more to the Woking team than just expertise.

Marc Meyohas, the CEO of Greybull Capital, greeted the veteran.

“Nick is a recognized leader in both motorsports and automobiles because he has been involved in both companies that have grown a lot and in really large and complex organizations,” he said as per reports on Soy Motor.

McLaren welcome Nick Fry

“His addition is very supportive of the McLaren Applied strategy and roadmap, and can help us attract individuals of the same calibre and experience. It will be an exciting time for everyone and Nick will be a truly valuable asset,” Meyohas added.

Nick Fry is also looking forward to contributing to the growth of McLaren Applied.

According to him, McLaren has “a clear vision to be a pioneer in motorsport, automotive and transportation for a better future. It will be a great adventure.”

McLaren Applied also intends to build devices for use outside of motorsport.

The marque had to sell its ‘Applied’ business due to a lack of money. The club also sold its Working headquarters and a minority investment in its racing division shares.

The racing branch will welcome new changes as McLaren rebuilds and prepares to go forward.

Furthermore, Zak Brown noted that the team is working on a wind tunnel, which will be a critical enhancement as the 2022 season approaches.

Nonetheless, the team will concentrate on its final struggle with Ferrari; the team is getting closer to depriving the Papaya team of their P3 constructor’s championship spot.
