Damon Hill blamed the FIA for “giving uncertainty” in racing and racing regulations.
Hill recently analysed the extremely controversial Abu Dhabi GP. It was not a well-managed race from start to finish, and while everyone will obviously be talking about THAT final lap, the former world champion talked about the very first one.
The opening lap saw Max Verstappen push Lewis Hamilton off the track, forcing him to take the run-off area. Given the FIA’s inconsistency at dealing with incidents like this one, there were a few shouts for a penalty that was not given.
Hill blamed the FIA for “giving uncertainty” in racing and racing regulations.
Speaking on the F1 Nation Podcast as quoted by GP Fans, he said, “The one that Max did on Lewis on lap one where he dived down the inside, took a long, massive Daniel Ricciardo-style lunge from miles back, Lewis allowed that to happen but he’s perhaps got in him mind being taken out by Max.
“So he’s thinking ‘Crikey! He’s going for it. I’m going to have to slightly open the door,’ and Max put his wheels right down there on the inside.
“Lewis took evasive action and had no track left to play with and had to take to the escape road.
“That was a bold move, but it was a move that has come on the back of a number of moves like that, that have gone unpunished or they’ve let it go so the drivers are unsure as to whether or not this is going to be the way to race or not.
“The doubt is the thing that has given us all these difficulties. It has given us uncertainty.”
All over the place
“Lewis had to take the evasive action but actually, you look at that pass and it was a clean pass,” he continued.
“Actually, he was ahead, so I didn’t understand when Lewis got back on the track why he didn’t give the place back because, in a sense really, Max had got the place.
“He didn’t gain a lasting advantage on that one, that is what they said. But he kind of did, because he didn’t get overtaken when in fact he had been overtaken. I’m going to take out shares in a gravel quarry somewhere!”

The Lewis Hamilton treatment by the supposed top controlling body of the sport the fia who cheated and lied their their way against the worlds unrivalled most winningest driver Lewis Hamilton.
In what was a brutal knockout below the belt to the champion by the fia I hope Lewis walks away from this crooked leadership of F1 for there’s no way anyone can now trust truth from the fia anymore.
This french run despot organisations history at leadership is incapable of staying within the rules.
The 2021 world title is Lewis Hamilton’s rightful 8th championship.
However the fia bulldozed the drivers title into oblivion to show their organisations despotisism.
It truth nothing short of totally disbanding this corrupt bunch will suffice.
