Red Bull team principal Christian Horner ruled out an easy race in Saudi Arabia, and suggested that it would be a demanding weekend.
F1 is set to race in Saudi Arabia for the first time in its history. This comes on the heels of another history-making race in Qatar, and the sport will have the second race in the Middle East triple-header at Jeddah.
The track will be a street circuit, a la the one in Baku. Nothing is known about the track, and with a championship yet to be decided, it is shaping up to be a mega event.
Horner ruled out an easy race in Saudi Arabia, and insisted that teams will have their work cut out.
“We head to Saudi Arabia for their first race where the track looks insane from I’ve seen,” wrote Horner in his column for Red Bull, as quoted by GP Fans.
“It’s hugely fast and the first sector is like Suzuka, but with walls! It is going to be a massive challenge and I’m sure there will be plenty of excitement and drama.”

Horner also revealed what he would be doing once he lands in the Kingdom, and stated that nothing can be predicted.
“We will be watching the Formula 2 race very carefully,” he said.
“On paper, it looks like a power-sensitive circuit, so you’d say that tends to favour Mercedes, and it looks as though they feel that way too, but you just don’t know.
“We go to Abu Dhabi (after Saudi), where in 2020 we were the first team to beat Mercedes since 2013, but they’ve changed the circuit considerably.
“We will be preparing as best as we can to go there and perform and see where we end up,” he concluded.
