Legendary driver Michael Schumacher’s wife has provided an update on his health.
A Netflix documentary, titled ‘Schumacher’, is set for release on September 15. In it, Schumacher’s life will be documented, and those close to him will be featured. The people who worked with him during his F1 career will also play a part in the documentary.
Schumacher is still recovering from a brain injury he suffered almost eight years ago from a skiing accident. His wife Corrina provided an update on his health in the documentary, as reported by The Sun.
“He still shows me how strong he is every day,” Corrina said, in a clip part of a preview by Netflix.
“I just felt that he is somebody special. I think that he is simply very strong mentally. Extremely strong.”
Since Schumacher’s accident, he has not been seen in public. His family has worked to keep his recovery a secret, and not much was known about it until recently. The documentary will shed some light on it, and will give fans a look at the life beyond Schumacher, the ruthless driver with winning in his DNA.
On Schumacher’s 50th birthday, the family addressed his legions of fans, saying they were doing “everything humanly possible” to help him recover as fast as possible. They also said that they were abiding by his wish to keep everything secret.
“You can be sure that he is in the very best of hands and that we are doing everything humanly possible to help him,” the statement said.
“Please understand if we are following Michael’s wishes and keeping such a sensitive subject as health, as it has always been, in privacy.”
The documentary promises to be a must-watch, and will no doubt be watched by anyone who has heard of the German champion. We wish him a speedy recovery, and a return to full health and happiness.
