The great Michael Schumacher is synonymous with Ferrari, having won many titles for the team. It is a legendary driver-team pairing, and one that is equated with success till date.

“Mick will be the reserve driver for Ferrari, just like Antonio Giovinazzi,” Binotto told RTL, as quoted by grandpx.news.

“Antonio will be the reserve driver in some races, and when he is not there it will be Mick.

“He’s always a Ferrari driver and he did well with Haas all through the 2021 season. The 2022 cars will be significantly different compared to 2021 in terms of driving style, so he will be used to them.

“For us, it is very important than whenever we need him, he will be prepared to drive a Ferrari,” he concluded.

Well-deserved

Mick is absolutely deserving of the role. His performances in the sub-par Haas have been superb, and his rookie season has seen him grow as a driver despite failing to score any points.

The highlight of his season came at the Turkish GP, where he stunned one and all and managed to sneak into Q2. It was a remarkable achievement and one that established his star as a promising talent.
