Ricciardo fears Australia’s travel restrictions may rule out Melbourne from upcoming schedule

Daniel Ricciardo is unhappy with Australia’s travel rules, saying that his country’s is not making his vacation plans any easier.

The F1 season is coming to a close, and everyone involved will be thinking of their time off until the next one begins. Ricciardo is one of them, and he will be heading back to Australia.

The Australian rules and regulations for travel are a little hard to navigate. There is mandatory quarantine for two weeks in the country. However, the state government of Western Australia has gone one further and made it a 14-day hotel quarantine period for any passenger arriving via direct overseas flight.

This would be a pain for anyone trying to reunite with their near and dear ones immediately, as it would set it back by two weeks. Ricciardo revealed that he was unhappy with Australia’s travel rules, but conceded that he is willing to comply with them.

“I’m going to go home. I need to. I need to get home,” he said, as quoted by RaceFans.

“It is difficult to get back. Unfortunately, they’re not making it easy, but it is what it is. I need to get home, see family, friends.

“Once I get out of the four walls, I should still get hopefully three or four weeks with friends and family. And it’s summer, so something to look forward to.”

Can’t come soon enough

Ricciardo will be eager to take a much-needed break given how the season has gone for him. What started off as a dreamy move and a last shot at glory has not lived up to the lofty expectations, with the Honey Badger visibly struggling in his new McLaren.

However, the last time there was a small break, Ricciardo ended up winning a race, which was the one in Italy this season. He will be looking to bounce back with confidence next season and remind the world just how good he can be.
