Vettel and Mick console Hamilton after heartbreaking loss in Abu Dhabi – Watch the video

Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher consoled Lewis Hamilton after his heartbreaking loss in Abu Dhabi.

While orange was the colour at Yas Marina, there was the low in Hamilton. The man who was the best driver on Sunday was robbed by the FIA on the last lap. He drove a faultless race from start to finish, but the cruelty of bizarre decisions cost him an eighth world title.

Had Hamilton won the race, he would have won a record-breaking eighth world championship. It would have put him above Michael Schumacher, and made a convincing case for him to become the absolute G.O.A.T of F1. It wasn’t meant to be, however, not this season at least.

Vettel and Mick consoled Hamilton after his heartbreaking loss on Sunday. The two drivers went up to the man who won hearts and wished him the best.

Hats off, Lewis

On Saturday, Hamilton was booed by the crowd present, but no one booed him after the race. They recognised the class of the man and how he refused to give in until it was well and truly ever, and broke into applause for him as he came for his interview.

“Firstly congratulations to Max and to his team,” Hamilton said.

“I think we did an amazing job this year. My team, everyone back at the factory, have worked so hard this whole year, it’s been the most difficult of seasons. I’m so proud of them and I’m so grateful to be a part of the journey with them.

“This last part of the season we gave it absolutely everything and never gave up.”

The sheer class of the man was on full display, as he congratulated his younger rival and celebrated on the podium for him. Meanwhile, you can be sure the fire is burning inside him brighter than ever.

He will be gunning for number eight next season. Schumacher better watch out for him.
