Susie Wolff delivers scathing Christian Horner verdict following war of words with husband Toto

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff and his counterpart at Red Bull, Christian Horner, shared a rather intense rivalry throughout the course of the 2021 season.

It was the first time in a number of years that a rival was in with a realistic chance in a number of years.

Although the Silver Arrows eventually came out on top, Wolff and Horner were often involved in fiery exchanges aimed at each other throughout the campaign.

Much to the delight of headline-hungry journalists, Wolff and Horner did not disappoint with the digs they shot at each other during press conferences.

It can be argued that a growing sense of nerves, both led by their management and personal egos, often got them delivering low blows at each other’s expense.

The Netflix docuseries titled Drive to Survive has undoubtedly covered many such moments throughout 2021.

However, the most interesting of these comes from Wolff’s wife Susie.

She passionately backs her better half and can herself be called guilty for indulging in a smite remark at Horner.

Susie Wolff claimed that the rivalry between her husband Toto and Christian Horner actually helped him do better.

While she agreed that being in such a pressure-heavy environment can get the better of your emotions at time, she didn’t feel Horner honoured basic human etiquettes in his slander.

”I can completely understand, Christian. You know, he’s watched Toto winning for so many years. It’s clear that causes a certain resentment, and that’s competition. You know, it can get tough. It can get ugly,” Susie says in episode 9 of Drive to Survive season 4.

“Sport is brutal. You need to be ruthless, competitive. But I don’t believe that to become successful you need to be an a**hole.”

While it is expected for her to take Toto’s side on this matter, it cannot be denied that the German also lost his cool more than a couple of times.

While tempers are expected to get high if we see a title battle as intense as last year, one can’t help but salivate at the prospect of a proper catfight if Geri Horner decides to get involved!
