Helmet swapping is not a new tradition in Formula 1 and Fernando Alonso has been on it at full swing this season.
The Alpine driver has previously swapped helmets with Sebastian Vettel, George Russell, and Nikita Mazepin.
He has now added Nicholas Latifi to his list too and plans to keep on going.
After his swap with the Canadian, Alonso revealed his plans of swapping helmets with every driver on the grid.
These helmets will be added to his museum.
Alonso free to enjoy his weekends
Alonso disclosed that he left F1 previously as he was distracted by other challenges including Daytona, Le Mans, and IndyCar.
He also added that after spending 18 years in Formula 1, it started to get too demanding for him.
However, after taking on other challenges, he is now free to enjoy his time in F1.
“Until I was not doing those challenges, I thought that I was losing time in F1, some of the last seasons before ’18,” he said.
“So once those challenges were completed, now I’m freer in a way to enjoy every weekend here,” Alonso concluded.
Alonso motivated with Alpine
The Spaniard returned to Formula 1 to join the newly branded Alpine team and claims that he is enjoying working with the French outfit.
“You know what atmosphere we have now, what motivation we have in the team in Enstone, in Viry – the hard work that everyone is putting in, how we approach every weekend, how we approach the little success that we have some weekends, and how we approach the bad moments in some other weekends,” he said.
“We are all united in the same direction, and this feels very good every week,” he concluded.
