Gervonta Davis is an American professional boxer. He is titled as the world’s best active super featherweight by Transnational Boxing Rankings Records.

He has many titles credited to his name including the WBA (Regular) lightweight title since 2019, WBA (Super) Super featherweight title since October 2020, along with the title of IBF super featherweight title in 2017.

Early life

Gervonta Davis was born in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Davis started training at Upton Boxing Center when he was five years old. He attended Digital Harbor High School. However, he dropped out to pursue boxing full time. He did earn his secondary degree through a GDA program.

Davis was quite successful as an amateur. He won three straight National Silver Gloves (2006-2008), two National Junior Olympic Gold Medals, and the 2012 National Golden Gloves Championship among others.

Davis made his professional debut when he was 18 years old. In 2015, he became the first person to defeat Israel Suarez. Davis also secured a technical knockout win against Alberto Mora in New Jersey.

There have been various instances in Davis’ life where he had to face the law. His most recent confrontation with the law came when he jumped the red light on March 22, 2021.

His Lamborghini hit another car which landed the passengers of the other car in the hospital. It was reported that Davis fled the scene without helping the people. However, no verdict has been announced on the case yet.


Gervonta Davis is estimated to have a net worth of $4 million in 2021. His primary source of income is his boxing fights. According to Forbes, he made around $1 million for his bout against Hugo Ruiz.

He endorses sports clothing brands under the apparel called Under Armour. In 2017, he apparently earned a whopping $75,000 for his fight against José Pedraza.
