Floyd Mayweather‘s upcoming exhibition against Logan Paul has sparked a frenzy in the combat sports community. As the fight approaches its conclusion, fans, experts, and even fellow fighters seem to want a piece of the action.
Sean O’Malley, a UFC bantamweight, recently chimed in on the issue. O’Malley was seen on his YouTube channel discussing the highly-awaited event and listed the potential outcomes of the war.
“Logan’s claiming that he’s busting up these good pros and beating these guys and stuff. Got me interested in this fight, dude,” he said.
“What ‘should’ happen is – Floyd Mayweather goes out there and pieces him up, and toys with him. That’s what should happen in this universe.
“But Logan is living in a different f**king universe in his head and that’s the most important thing going into a fight – being confident. He might get f**ked up but I feel he might win, dude. He’s fighting him anyways so what’s the best mindset to go with?
“‘I’m going to f**k him up in this crazy universe.’ If he [Logan] goes out there and gets worked, he’s supposed to. But if he wins – mind-blown.”
Mayweather and the professional arena
Mayweather has a wealth of experience fighting inside the ring. He has dominated the sport of boxing for nearly three decades, having competed professionally since 1996.
With a 50-0 record that speaks volumes of his unrivalled fighting style, the 44-year-old is certain to go down in history as one of the best fighters to ever lace a pair of gloves.
However, three years of inactivity seems to have been enough for critics to give Paul a chance against the former five-division champion.
Mayweather is also a much smaller fighter of the two. His smooth defence and ring IQ can help him to weather the big punches, despite his height and reach being a direct disadvantage.
Paul, on the other hand, will be looking to capitalise on his youth and size heading into the pay-per-view case.
The new updates show the YouTuber honing his skills by sparring with legitimate boxers like Jean Pascal, so the possibilities are exciting.
