German driver Nico Hulkenberg has managed to find a way to stay connected with Formula 1 despite losing his Renault seat in 2019.
Last year, Hulkenberg deputised for both Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll. It has now been reported that his performances have been good enough to secure him a set at Aston Martin. He will, however, be the team’s reserve and test driver.
Official confirmation is being awaited but the announcement is imminent.
Apart from doing his duties on the track, it is reported that Hulkenberg is edging closer to signing a deal with the Red Bull-owned Servus TV as a media analyst for the races.
It seems highly likely that we will get to see Hulkenberg back in some capacity.
