“I have already caught something”: Norris believes he holds early advantage over Ricciardo

McLaren driver Lando Norris will be partnered by new recruit Daniel Ricciardo in the 2021 season.

The British youngster spoke about how the change has impacted him and what he expects in the upcoming season.

Daniel Ricciardo is a proven winner and has plenty of experience as far as Formula 1 is concerned.

The Australian’s positive winning mentality is also surely something that will rub off on his teammate. On his first impression of Ricciardo, Norris said he is yet to form an opinion.

However, Norris was quick to admit that he had gathered some information on Ricciardo in the simulator test, but could not reveal this till the first test of the Bahrain Grand Prix.

“I don’t know, this will be our first drive this week, and my opinion on this will begin to form.

“I aim to observe Daniel well and learn from him and his feedback. But I have already caught something from him in the simulator, especially about where and how he can push me.

“I don’t know, I can’t give an answer until the first tests of the first race weekend because everything becomes reality there and people show their true potential.

“I do not have a complete answer yet, but I am sure that it will push me in every field, and I hope I will push him. This is my goal,” he said.

McLaren finished third in last season’s constructors’ standings. However, with Ricciardo joining the team and the promise of Mercedes power units, they will be keen to be viewed as title challengers.
