“It’s beautiful if it works”: Mercedes may have trick up their sleeves

The Formula 1 season is set to begin in Bahrain in just a few hours and Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has already raised eyebrows by claiming that the team may have something innovative to broadcast.

The DAS system attracted a lot of attention last year. In the light of that, it would probably not be entirely beyond the Silver Arrows to spring another surprise ahead of this season.

“You haven’t even seen what we’re going to put on the car yet,” Wolff said.

“Of course, there is room for innovation and that always made me happy.

Wolff claimed that Mercedes constantly looks to innovate all through the season.

“Every year we try to do something that is a little bit boxy. I’m not sure it makes a big difference in terms of the performance of the car.

“It’s beautiful if it works.”

Last year, Mercedes introduced the DAS system last year. However, it has been banned for the 2021 campaign.
