Entertainment career

2014–2016

On May 15, 2014, Paul created his YouTube channel. His channel is well-known for pranks, controversies, and rap music. Paul was invited onto the set of the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark after achieving notoriety on Vine and YouTube, portraying a character that received dare requests and then performed them.

The Disney Channel confirmed Paul’s departure from Bizaardvark on July 22, 2017, in the middle of filming the second season. The declaration came in response to a KTLA news article about public concerns from Paul’s neighbours about the loudness caused by Paul’s pranks, parties, fire hazards, and big crowds of Paul’s supporters congregating in their neighbourhood.

Paul later confirmed the announcement on his Twitter page, stating that he will now devote more time to his personal brand, YouTube channel, business initiatives, and adult acting gigs.

Paul later revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he was sacked from Bizaardvark by Disney, who wanted to speed up the process of weaning him off the show as a result of the KTLA episode.

On May 30, 2017, Paul released the single “It’s Everyday Bro” which featured Team 10, as well as the music video. It had vocals from the team at the time, which included Nick Crompton, Chance Sutton, Ivan and Emilio Martinez, and Tessa Brooks.

In one month, the video had over 70 million views and rose to the third most disliked video on the platform. The song premiered and peaked at number 91 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the Recording Industry Association of America certified it platinum (RIAA).

On November 22, 2017, Paul released a remix of “It’s Everyday Bro,” replacing Team 10 with American rapper Gucci Mane, as well as a new music video for it.
On August 15, 2018, Paul released a new track, “Champion,” along with a music video. The song was a slam dunk directed against Paul’s boxing opponent, Deji Olatunji.

Paul released the track “Fresh Outta London” on July 24, 2020, along with the music video.  He had a party at his home in Calabasas, California, thirteen days before the video shoot, on July 11, which drew national notice after being called out by Calabasas mayor Alicia Weintraub when footage and photos of the party leaked online.

On September 10, Paul released another single, “23” along with a music video at his house that included only his older brother Logan and snippets of him and a few of his friends. The song’s title relates to his age at the time, as well as the jersey number of American former basketball player Michael Jordan.

On October 15, Paul released the track “Dummy” which featured Canadian rapper TVGucci, who is signed to Drake’s record company, OVO Sound. Six days later, on October 21, the lyric video was posted to Paul’s YouTube channel.
