He made it into the Manchester United squad during the 2011 season. However, he only made it to the reserves bench a few times because Sir Alex Ferguson left him out.

A year later, he and Michael Keane were loaned to Leicester City for him to get more playing time. Until January 2013, he made a total of five appearances for Leicester.

Jesse Lingard was recalled and included in United’s pre-season tour following his loan spell, and he finally played his first game for the club under David Moyes. Lingard went on to finish as the tour’s top scorer, but it wasn’t enough to keep him with the team, and he was loaned out again.

He was in Birmingham this time. He scored a hat-trick in 13 minutes during a Championship match against Sheffield Wednesday. After his loan spell at Birmingham City, he was recalled and transferred to Brighton and Hove Albion almost immediately.

Lingard was a late substitute in the 2014-15 season. He helped United defeat Liverpool 3-1 in the International Champions Cup Final. Finally, in 2015, he returned to Manchester United and was not loaned out to another club. He would stay with the United squad for the rest of his career, up until the start of the current season, under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Jesse Lingard has scored 29 goals in 167 appearances for Manchester United, bringing his total to 41 in 217 appearances. The 26-year-old has also scored four goals for England, all of which came in 2018 including one which came during the World Cup.
