A brief altercation between Jimmy Butler and Karl Anthony Towns occurred on Friday night when both their teams squared off.
Towns, who we all know has had a rough 2020 as six of his family members, including his mother, have died due to Covid, received some harsh words from Butler.
As the game got intense, Butler had some words for his old teammate KAT.
The two shared a strained relationship from their time together on the Timberwolves when Butler openly blasted KAT in an interview.
“You soft as baby sh*t… you a loser. I already punked you once,” Butler taunted.
The Miami Heat went on to secure the win against the Minnesota Timberwolves 121-112. Jimmy Butler poured 25 Pts, 6 Ast, and 8 Reb, while KAT put 27 Pts, 4 Ast, and 6 Reb on the board.
Butler’s brutal putdown was met with heavy criticism by NBA fans who took pity to all the struggles KAT has been through the last year. Timberwolves rookie Anthony Edwards however, had an altogether different view on the matter.
“Man, they grown men, dog. They just be talking, having a regular conversation, if you ask me. Y’all come to see us compete. It’s no competition if we not talkin s— to each other.” Edwards said postgame
Following the Heat’s win, Butler was seen smiling with his team on their way to victory.
As the regular season approaches to its end, the Heat currently at 6th seed, now need to focus on working to avoid the play-in tournament. Their next game is on the road against the Boston Celtics.
