Jimmy Smith, a former UFC analyst, has taken on the role of a play-by-play commentator in the WWE.
Smith, who has previously worked as a commentator and analyst for notable sports organisations such as Bellator MMA and the UFC, is now set to begin working in one of the most coveted roles in play-by-play commentator on WWE’s Monday Night RAW.
On Monday Night RAW, Smith will be joined by colour commentators Corey Graves and Byron Saxton. He will also be a part of WWE’s pay-per-view commentary team.

The WWE has issued a statement on their official website confirming that Smith will indeed serve as the lead play-by-play announcer on the Monday Night RAW commentary team.

Monday Night RAW, produced by WWE, is the longest-running weekly episodic TV show in the United States of America. Needless to say, Smith’s selection as the play-by-play commentator on Monday Night RAW is regarded as a significant achievement for the long-time MMA personality.
Jimmy Smith has previously worked for Bellator MMA, UFC and WWE NXT
Smith was a Bellator MMA analyst for around seven years. He has worked in the UFC, where he joined the commentary crew in 2018 for a year.
Smith also joined the WWE earlier this year (2021) and has worked with the WWE’s NXT brand. The NXT brand is seen as a vital cog in the WWE machine.
NXT, the WWE’s developmental brand, assists both newbies and experienced performers in honing their in-ring wrestling and promo skills.
Smith also hosts SiriusXM’s ‘Unlocking the Cage’ everyday and has presented ‘American Ninja Warrior’ on G4.
According to the WWE, he will begin his duties as the play-by-play announcer of Monday Night RAW on Monday, May 31st, 2021, at 8/7c on the USA Network.
