Khabib Abdulmanapovich Nurmagomedov was born on September 20, 1988, in Russia’s Kizilyurtovsky District. He was the second of three children born to Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, a distinguished athlete and war veteran. He had an older brother named Mogamed, as well as a younger sister named Amina.
His father began training him in combat sambo when he was 17 years old. His family eventually relocated to Kiev, Ukraine, where he continued his education.
