Kimi Raikkonen net worth: How much is the Iceman worth in 2021?

Kimi Raikkonen is a wealthy Finnish Formula One driver with a net worth of $250 million. Kimi made well over $50 million a year while he was at the peak of his career, making him one of the highest-paid athletes in the world.

Raikkonen gained the title “Iceman” for a variety of reasons, including his origins in Finland’s cold environment, his ability to remain calm under pressure, and his calm and cool temperament toward the media, other racers, and teammates.

Raikkonen is considered to be the most successful Finnish driver to have ever competed in the Formula One. He has won 21 Grand Prix as per records. Raikkonen had raced for several teams but he tasted maximum success with Ferrari.

He has also competed in a variety of motorsport competitions outside of Formula One, including the World Rally Championship, NASCAR, snowmobile races, and many more.

Childhood

Kimi-Matias Raikkonen was born in Espoo, Finland on October 17, 1979. Raikkonen began racing at a young age, starting in karting at the age of ten.

He was racing in karting events in Monaco by the age of 15, demonstrating great tenacity by racing his kart even after his steering wheel broke.

Kimi met with a bicycle accident during his childhood, which damaged his vocal cords. This has an effect on his voice, giving him a distinct speaking style.

Career

Raikkonen made his debut with the Sauber Formula One team in 2000 at the Mugello Circuit. Despite having only 23 races under his belt, he was handed his F1 licence in 2001.

The Ferraris appeared to be noticeably slower than the Red Bull and Brawn teams. Raikkonen finished 12th that year and had to quit Formula One after many conversations with different teams did not work. He subsequently spent the next three years rallying in the World Rally Championship, achieving solid finishes but often finishing behind the leaders.

Raikkonen joined Alfa Romeo Racing in 2019. With a successful first half of the season, he demonstrated that he still had plenty of potential left.

However, he endured a significant drop in form in 2020, and he virtually became Alfa Romeo’s number two driver behind the inexperienced Antonio Giovinazzi.
