The previous Formula 1 season was a difficult one for Aston Martin driver, Sebastian Vettel which lead many to believe a career end for him.
The four-time world champion managed a difficult thirteenth place with 33 points in the driver’s standings last year.
However, for the 2021 season, the German signed with Aston Martin and now seems to have found his old form back.
Many people, including his long-time friend and former Ferrari teammate, Kimi Raikkonen were beyond overjoyed by Vettel.
Raikkonen happy for Vettel
After Seb’s final year at the Scuderia, the media had cast him as a has-been. As a result, Vettel turned to the Silverstone team to try and redeem himself.
The gamble, fortunately, paid off after he found himself on the podium in Baku when he came P2.
“Yes, I was happy for him. As for the criticism: This is how Formula 1 works. You are the hero, the dead man, then the hero again. But I don’t give anything to it,” Kimi said.
Has Vettel found his lost form?
There were many who were under the impression that Vettel’s career had hit rock-bottom after leaving the Italian team.
However, at the Monaco Grand Prix, Seb was able to pull back and return with a P5 finish and ten points.
Then at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, he finished a P2 podium, a first for Aston Martin.
At the moment, Vettel stands in tenth place in the driver’s standings and has 30 points to his name.
