KL Rahul regains full fitness, sends message to fans

With his tour against Australia cut short owing to a wrist injury, KL Rahul has somewhat shifted away from the limelight.

On Tuesday, the Karnataka batsman said that he has been working hard on his fitness since sustaining the injury. He was chuffed at the prospect of competing once again during the home series against England.

The 28-year-old, who played the ODIs and T20Is, suffered an injury to his left wrist during a practice session at the MCG. This ruled him out of contention for the third and fourth Tests.

In a bid to regain full fitness at the earliest, Rahul flew back home immediately. There, he integrated with the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

“Glad to have completed my rehab strong. No better feeling than being back fit and healthy. Always fun to get back with the boys, and an honour to represent. Looking forward to the home series,” he wrote on Twitter.

Rahul had enjoyed a promising start to the tour of Australia, hitting two fifties. He has subsequently been named in the Test series against England which starts in Chennai on Friday.
