Kylian Mbappé is a French professional footballer who plays forward for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain as well as the France national team.
Early life
Kylian Mbappé Lottin was born on 20 December 1998 in Paris and was raised in Bondy, Seine-Saint-Denis.
His father, Wilfried, is from Cameroon and a football coach in addition to being Mbappé’s agent, while his mother, Fayza Lamari, is of Algerian (Kabyle) origin and a former handball player. Ethan, his younger brother, played for PSG’s under-12 team in 2018. Jirès Kembo Ekoko, Mbappé’s adoptive brother, is also a professional footballer.
Growing up, his idol was Cristiano Ronaldo, whom he aspired to be like. Kylian Mbappé attended a private Catholic school in Bondy as a child, where he was considered academically gifted but extremely unruly.
Career
Mbappé began his senior career with Ligue 1 club Monaco, where he made his professional debut at the age of 16 in 2015. He won the Ligue 1 title, the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year award, and the Golden Boy award with them.
He joined league rivals Paris Saint-Germain on an initial loan in 2017, which was extended in 2018 in a deal worth €180 million-plus add-ons, making him both the second-most expensive player and the most expensive teenager.
Mbappé won three Ligue 1 titles, three Coupe de France titles was named Ligue 1 Player of the Year twice and was the top scorer in Ligue 1 for three consecutive seasons while at PSG. He is also the club’s third-highest goalscorer in history.
Mbappé made his senior debut for France in 2017, when he was 18 years old. Mbappé became the youngest French player to score in a World Cup at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and the second teenager, after Pelé, to score in a World Cup Final.
As France won the tournament, he finished as the tournament’s joint second-highest goalscorer, and he received the Best Young Player and French Player of the Year awards for his efforts.

Personal life
Mbappe has been dating his current girlfriend, Alicia Aylies, who is Miss France 2017. It is reported that they have been dating since 2018.
Mbappé is a Christian who practices and believes in God. Mbappé discussed the sacrifices he made as a teenager to focus on his football development in a 2018 interview with Time saying, “I did not have the adolescent experiences that so-called normal people have, such as going out with friends and having fun.” Despite missing out on a “normal” life, Mbappé claims he is “living the life he has always imagined.”
He has over 50 million Instagram followers just over four years after making his professional debut. While he admits that his “life has been completely turned upside down” since he first came to public attention, he claims to be “happy.”
Kylian’s brother Ethan signed an “aspiring” contract with Paris Saint-Germain on June 25, 2021, with a deal expiring in 2024.

According to Transfermarkt, Kylian Mbappe’s net worth is $176 million. When he transferred from AS Monaco to league rivals in 2017, he was valued at $38.5 million. He is the most valuable player in Ligue 1 based on his position as a centre-forward.
Mbappé is sponsored by Nike, a sportswear and equipment supplier. At the age of 18, Nike released his own personalised football boots, the Kylian Mbappé Nike Hypervenom 3. In 2018, he debuted the Nike Mercurial Superfly VI boots, which were inspired by former Brazilian striker Ronaldo’s R9 Mercurial boots.
Mbappé can be found in EA Sports’ FIFA video game series, where he has the highest potential rating of 94. His signature goal celebration – posing with his arms folded and hands tucked under his armpits – was inspired by his younger brother Ethan, who would do the same after defeating Kylian at FIFA.

Mbappé was joined by two of Africa’s greatest strikers, former A.C. Milan forward and current Liberia President George Weah, and former Chelsea and Ivory Coast forward Didier Drogba, in a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and FIFA president Gianni Infantino at the Élysée Palace in Paris on 22 February 2018. Mbappé has stated that the development of African sport is important to him because his parents are of African descent.
Mbappé donated $34,000 (approximately £26,000) to a crowdfunding campaign to fund a private search mission to find football player Emiliano Sala, whose light aircraft had gone missing over the English Channel a week earlier.
Mbappé later donated a further £27,000 to the GoFundMe campaign set up to fund the search for the plane’s still-missing pilot, David Ibbotson, on February 10, 2019.
