Lando Norris is currently at the peak of his performance at the moment.
During the race, the 21-year-old forced Hamilton to stay behind for several laps before letting him overtake on Lap 20.
However, after Hamilton suffered floor damage, Norris was able to take advantage and grab the final podium spot.
While Norris appreciated Hamilton for his statements about him, the McLaren driver thinks that the seven-time world champion is error prone.
Norris points out Hamilton’s mistakes
Even though Norris had a great start to the race on Sunday, Sergio Perez and both Mercedes drivers made things difficult for him.
Perez fell back after Lap 5 but Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas pushed the young Brit to his limits.
However, by the end, Norris went on to claim the third-place podium after which he claimed that the defending champions can make mistakes too.
“Obviously Hamilton’s words make me happy, but he wasn’t perfect at the wheel. He made several mistakes in Turn-1 and Turn-3. I certainly learned a lot both in the first stint against Hamilton and in the second against Bottas,” he said.
‘Was able to duel with Mercedes and Red Bulls’
Looking back at his performance at the Red Bull Ring, the Brit clearly exuded confidence.
McLaren have been far behind Mercedes and Red Bull with the Austrian Grand Prix as an exception.
“It was great for us to be able to be together with these two teams throughout the race. Being so competitive at the start of the race was a great feeling for me and for the team,” he concluded.
The Brit is now headed to his home race in Silverstone in two weeks’ time. Therefore, we can expect Norris to maintain his form.
