Formula 1 has a completely different vibe to it when the races take place with stands full of crowds, something that has been missing due to Covid-19.
The entire 2020 season went without spectators and drivers have been missing out on the excitement of a full stand.
Hamilton excited about Silverstone
The seven-time world champion has his sights set on his home race, the British Grand Prix which will allow fans.
But at the same time, the Brit is also concerned about the increasing Covid-19 cases in the United Kingdom.
The Knight has to wait just a couple of weeks before the race at Silverstone and meet his fans as he battles out for his eighth title this season.
What did Hamilton say?
“I can’t tell you how excited I am to see people, because it is the best crowd of the whole year,” Hamilton stated.
“But of course I watch the news, I know about the cases going up in the UK. So on that side I worry”
Hamilton is hoping to reduce the gap between him and Max Verstappen before his home race. He is also preparing to put on a good show for his fans.
British GP to host packed stands
According to the official report published, the British Grand Prix will see packed stands.
“We are delighted to confirm that the Formula 1 Pirelli British Grand Prix 2021 has been included in the latest phase of the UK Government’s Event Research Programme (ERP) allowing a full capacity crowd for the event between 16th – 18th July,” the report stated.
“Ticket holders will be asked for either proof of a negative lateral flow test taken within 48 hours of arrival at Silverstone or proof of full vaccination, the second dose having been received at least 14 days prior to the first day of attending the British Grand Prix.
“The Silverstone team will be working closely with the ERP experts and particularly the Director of Public Health in Northamptonshire on the specific conditions of entry that will enable the event to operate safely and will be announcing these details to ticket holders in the next ten days,” it concluded.
Good news for British drivers
A packed stand is something not only Hamilton is looking forward to.
The presence of fans will surely help boost the morale of the drivers who are hoping to please the crowds.
