Red Bull drivers vaccinated, but ‘high risk’ group member Marko yet to receive second dose

All four drivers part of the Red Bull family (Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda) have now received both their mandatory doses of vaccinations against the coronavirus.

The team’s technical director Helmut Marko, however, has had only one.

The team and drivers took the opportunity to get their first dose in Bahrain.

Marko, however, was not present at the time and missed out on this opportunity. He recently received the first vaccination from AstraZeneca.

Marko is currently 77 years old and belongs to the risk group.

“Unfortunately we do very poorly in Austria in terms of vaccination,” Marko told German RTL.

There remains a question mark on whether spectators will be allowed inside the Austrian Grand Prix.

Marko refused to provide any definitive answer on the matter.

“We have to wait and see,” he said.

It may be interesting to note that Verstappen did not get vaccinated in Bahrain.

When he arrived at the location, he said he had already received both his doses.

Perez got his vaccination done with Pfizer, while it is unknown where Tsunoda and Gasly went.

Gasly and Perez have both had coronavirus in the past.
