Aston Martin may have endured a rather difficult start to the 2021 season, but the team is set to get a boost very soon.
Former Ferrari team boss Marco Mattiaci is set to make a return to the sport and will link up with Aston Martin, if La Gazzetta dello Sport is to be believed.
The 50-year-old famously took charge of Ferrari following the exit of Stefano Domenicali from the team in 2014.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mattiacci is now inching ever closer to a return to Formula 1.
The outlet’s correspondent Lorenzo Pastuglia has claimed that Mattiaci will work to enhance the growth and development of the brand that is owned by Lawrence Stroll.
“The news has been verified and confirmed by Gazzetta Motori,” Pastuglia said.
Pastuglia claimed that Mattiaci and Stroll formed a good bond around a decade ago, when Mattiaci was in charge of Ferrariās North American operations a decade ago.
