Ronda Rousey was born in Riverside, California on February 1, 1987. Her mother is a former Judo champion. She has two older siblings. Her mother, Ann Maria De Mars was the first American to win a World Judo Championship.
As a result, Rousey grew up around Judo and wanted to pursue it as a career. When she was younger, she had difficulty stringing phrases together due to speech impairments. Rousey dropped out of high school to pursue Judo.
Career
Rousey began Judo training when she was 11 years old, coached by her mother. Ronda qualified for the 2004 Olympic Games when she was 17 years old, making her the youngest judoka to compete.
She won a gold medal in the World Junior Judo Championship the same year. Rousey went on to win numerous more medals in the sport of judo before retiring at the age of 21 to pursue MMA as her new career.
During the period of MMA training, she worked numerous jobs such as waitressing, bartending, and so on.
