Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin will continue to drive for Haas in Formula One next season.

The move was finalized before this weekend’s Russian Grand Prix, which was always the goal when they signed the two rookies for 2021.

“2021 has afforded both drivers the opportunity to learn F1,” team principal Gunther Steiner remarked.

The son of seven-time world winner Michael Schumacher has been the most remarkable, constantly faster than Mazepin despite being chastised by the team for a number of errors.

In the meantime, Mazepin has enraged Schumacher with some strong defensive tactics during races, and the team has had to sit down with the duo to settle their relationship following a series of public spats.

The drivers’ work has been made more difficult in their debut season by the fact that Haas has the slowest car in the field, having elected to save money by not improving it before a major regulatory change in 2022 that will need all-new cars.

After signing a multi-year contract, Schumacher will drive for the Haas team in 2021 with Nikita Mazepin, with whom he previously raced in go-karts.

He chose the number 47 because his other two favourites, 4 and 7, were already taken. Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto said after the Formula One season finale in Abu Dhabi that he expected Schumacher to have a “very difficult” first season, but that he believed he could drive for Ferrari as early as the 2023 season.

Mazepin signed a multi-year deal with Haas F1 Team in 2021, partnering Mick Schumacher.

He chose the number 9 as his racing number for life. After the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld a World Anti-Doping Agency ban on Russia competing at the World Championships in December 2020 due to state-sponsored doping of Russian athletes.

Mazepin will compete under a neutral flag for the Russian Automobile Federation in the 2021 and 2022 Formula One World Championships.

Nikita Mazepin crashed out on the opening lap of his inaugural race after losing control on the kerb at turn three.

Mazepin was docked 5 seconds during the 2021 Portuguese Grand Prix for disobeying blue flags and impeding Sergio Pérez.

He set the fastest lap of the race on the second lap of the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix in Spa-Francorchamps, which was only two laps behind the Safety Car due to heavy rain.

However, because the race was suspended permanently after that, the official results were taken from the end of the race’s first full lap, and Mazepin’s fastest lap award was rescinded.

Schumacher, a twenty-year-old racing car driver, may have just recently race tested a Formula One car, but it appears that fate has a full-fledged F-1 career in store for him someday.

After the test run in the Alfa Romeo, Mick was quoted as saying on SportStar, “It has been another beautiful day at a Formula One track and I can only repeat myself as it is just so much fun to drive these cars. I will definitely fly back with some very beautiful memories.”

Mick’s decision to follow in his famous father’s footsteps is unsurprising.

However, not every kid of a famous parent achieves the same level of success as his father. Mick, on the other hand, appears to be on the right track right now. In the world of racing, his ascent has been steady.

Mick began his racing career with go-karting, like do the majority of drivers, in 2008. The famous surname, on the other hand, was a paparazzi magnet.

Mick’s intention to follow in the footsteps of his famous father is unsurprising. Not every child of a renowned dad, on the other hand, achieves the same level of success as his father.

Mick, on the other hand, appears to be heading in the correct direction at the moment. His rise in the racing scene has been steady.

Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin of the Uralkali Haas F1 Team finished 19th and 20th, respectively, in the Turkish Grand Prix, held at Intercity Istanbul Park on Sunday – Round 16 of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

Schumacher started 14th on Pirelli Cinturato Green intermediates in rainy circumstances but was regrettably engaged in an early collision with Alpine’s Fernando Alonso. Through turn four, Schumacher was thrown into a spin and plummeted to the rear of the race.

Alonso was given a time sanction by the stewards after it was judged that Schumacher was the innocent party. Schumacher fell to the back of the field and rejoined the race on lap 41 of 58 to face another set of intermediates.

He kept the car running until the checkered flag, finishing in 19th place.

Due to the conditions, Mazepin also started on intermediates and took the green flag from 18th. Mazepin stayed out of trouble to keep his spot before giving one to Williams’ Nicholas Latifi.

Mazepin came in 20th after going through for his pit stop on lap 36 while remaining on intermediates, despite the fact that every driver made it to the finish line despite the conditions.

“The race organizers have done an amazing job since last year to improve the conditions for the drivers,” Mazepin said.

“From my side, it was pure joy to be here all weekend. I did a clean race out there, stayed out of trouble in the first lap and drove the best I could. Unfortunately, you know the conditions were very weird today in the respect that the track never really dried out.

“I didn’t anticipate that the intermediate tires needed time to get into the slick condition to give us good times.

“These conditions are priceless because as much as they’re difficult to drive in, they’re very useful,” Mazepin added as per reports on HaasF1Team.

“We knew it was going to be tough and I think because there was no real chaos, the result that we drove today was realistic anyway,” Schumacher said.

“Again, we learned a lot, we learned how to be competitive at the race start and we just have to analyze how we do it even better. Overall, it’s been a very positive weekend.

“There’s no reason for me to be sad because I’m not in the championship fight, so anything good from this weekend – I’ll take it – and anything bad I will leave it behind and learn from it.”
