New Barcelona striker Sergio Agüero will be out till November due to a calf injury he picked up in training.
Agüero was set to make his Barcelona debut in the Joan Gamper trophy match against Juventus. However, while training, he suffered a calf problem. Subsequently, he was taken for an assessment, and his injury was confirmed.
According to reliable La Liga source Gerard Romero, Agüero will miss the start of the season, and could be out all the way till November. This means he will have to wait three months before he can make his Barcelona debut.
Romero tweeted out the news on his official Twitter account to confirm it. He said, “Al Kun hasta el noviembre no lo vemos”. It translates to “Kun will be out till November at least.”

More details of the injury are not known. However, Agüero reportedly could not walk after picking up the knock. He subsequently missed the match against Juventus. Barcelona did not miss him, as they swept the Old Lady away and won 3-0, thanks to goals from Memphis Depay, Martin Braithwaite and Riqui Puig.
Lost opportunities
It is a shame to see Agüero miss the chance to make his debut for Barcelona, and even more so considering he will have to wait until midway through the season. The Argentinian striker arrived from Manchester City to a rousing welcome. Now it seems he will have to wait to play in front of fans at the Camp Nou.
The injury capped off a miserable week for Barcelona, which started with the financial problems and went on to Lionel Messi’s exit from Barcelona. Agüero’s best friend and countryman left the club after 17 years together, marking the end of an era at the Catalan club.
One of Kun’s biggest hopes was to finally play with Messi at club level. That hope is now dashed, along with the hope that he can play when the new season starts.
