Shahid Khan net worth: What is the buying power of the owner of Fulham FC and Jaguars?

According to Forbes, Shahid Khan’s net worth is projected to be $8 billion, a 3% increase from the previous fiscal year. Khan’s net worth stems mostly from his auto parts company, Flex-N-Gate. He also owns Fulham F.C. and All Elite Wrestling, in addition to the Jaguars.

Khan has owned the Jaguars since January 4, 2012 and is the fourth richest owner of a National League Football team on the list. He is followed by David Tepper (owner of the Carolina Panthers, tied for eighth with $14.5 billion), Jerry Jones (owner of the Dallas Cowboys, 12th with $8.9 billion), and Stanley Kroenke (owner of the Los Angeles Rams, 14th with $8.2 billion).

Khan was born in Pakistan and immigrated to the United States when he was only 16 years old. He did menial jobs while pursuing a degree. 13 years later, in 1980, he bought Flex-N-Gate, where he had previously worked. He is one of only three NFL owners who was born outside of the country.

Khan made substantial investments in his squad, hiring new head coach Urban Meyer and completely new staff. He also hinted to local media that he would be adopting a more hands-on approach with the team. However, following a 1-15 season that resulted in a house cleaning, Khan modified his approach to managing his investment.

With Meyer at the helm, Khan is aiming to adjust the dynamics once more.

“I think the problem of roster control is more technical or symbolic,” Khan told local media after announcing the Myer hire in January.

“My whole aspect—and this started really about 15 months ago—that we need to be a coach-centric team and organization, where the head coach really has to lead the kind of players he wants, the kind of team we need to be.

“And the general manager, myself, we have to support that mission. And somehow, someway, that had been lost. The idea here is really more about transparency, collaboration, teamwork and accountability.

“So I think this would lead to the natural question…the objective is going to be that—and I’ve shared this with Urban, he’s on board—both of them will be reporting to me.

“But everybody in the organisation, I mean, we’re going to be carrying out Urban’s vision of the team and the kind of players we want.”
