A week to remember for Paula Badosa, who won her maiden WTA 1000 title by overcoming Victoria Azarenka with a score of 7-6 2-6 76 on the hard-courts of Indian Wells, where she had never competed in the main competition.

Badosa’s victory at the Indian Wells
Paula Badosa has advanced sixteen places in the WTA rankings as a result of her victory. She is now ranked 13th. The only other Spanish woman ahead of her in the rankings is Garbine Muguruza, who is still in 5th place.
