The former American coach has coached some of the best tennis players in the world. He was even given the chance to work with the Williams sisters.
As reported on Tennis Head, when asked by the Daily Mail about Emma Raducanu’s long-term prospects, he said that success requires a lot more than talent. Bollettieri underlined his points using instances of Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, and Venus Williams.
Bollettieri said, “They had physical abilities beyond compare, but it was focus, not letting outside distractions overtake you.” For so many years, they were able to maintain their domination due to their determination and mental strength.
The Williams sisters have dominated women’s tennis for the past 20 years. They have a combined total of 30 grand slam singles titles. Serena Williams has won 23 of them, and Venus Williams has added seven more to their collection. In their tennis careers, both Americans have reached the top of the global rankings.
In terms of doubles titles, the duo has a total of 14 grand slam victories to their credit. The Williams sisters will be recognized for the rest of tennis history.
