Emma Raducanu imitates Federer and impresses fans with her near-perfect technique

Emma Raducanu, a British teenage star who stunned the tennis world with an incredible three-week run at the US Open that culminated in her first major title, has captured the public’s attention since the victory and attracted a slew of new followers eager to follow her journey.

In terms of quality, the US Open this year would be right up there with the other three slams. Throughout the tournament, both the men’s and women’s singles draw provided excellent play.

Along with Raducanu, another youngster, Leylah Fernandez, beat up on top players such as Naomi Osaka, Angelique Kerber, Elina Svitolina, and others before succumbing to the Brit in the finals.

The British player has yet to confirm her WTA comeback tournament. She could compete in the Indian Wells Masters, which begins on October 4th. The US Open champion has yet to receive a wild card from the tournament organizers.

Raducanu begins practicing with a one-handed backhand

Raducanu stands a good chance of receiving the Indian Wells wild card. In addition, the youngster parted ways with coach Andrew Richardson, stating that she needed someone with WTA tour teaching expertise.

Along with this shift, Emma appeared to have made a significant change to her game before returning to the tour. During one of her practice sessions, the Brit appeared to be working on a single-handed backhand.

Raducanu could be seen striking a few one-handed backhand shots in one of the footage she uploaded on her Instagram stories, and she wrote  “During my time off I decided to make the switch to a 1 hander…hope u understand”. 

During practice sessions, it was usual to see a lot of players experimenting with a one-handed backhand. After reading the statement provided by the Brit behind the video, it seems that Raducanu was serious about making this modification to her game.

In any case, only time will tell if Emma Raducanu has truly selected the single-handed backhand method or if it was all a prank to taunt her admirers.
