Emma Raducanu moves one step closer to ‘dream match’ against Simona Halep at Transylvania Open

In her second match at the Transylvania Open, Emma Raducanu rediscovered her excellent form, defeating third-seeded Ana Bogdan.

The British player won the match 6/3, 6/4. Raducanu won the first game of the match with a service game in which she defended three break points.

Emma made up for her sluggish start by breaking Bogdan’s serve at 0 and going on to win the set 3-0. Until the first set finished — Raducanu 6/3 – none of the players were able to get any further break points.

Raducanu dominated the second set, earning a double break point on Bogdan’s serve, which the British converted at the first opportunity.

With a 2-1 lead in the second set, Emma Raducanu faced Bogdan’s first break chance on her serve since the match’s first game. Bogdan took advantage of the rare opportunity and broke, pulling herself back into contention.

The US Open champion attempted to retaliate against Bogdan’s immediate service game. But her opponent was able to capitalize on her earlier break.

Raducanu, on the other hand, didn’t waste any time in roaring back with a break after creating three break chances on Bogdan’s serve at 3-3.

Raducanu went on to win the match after that, finishing the last game with a superb 40-0 against Ana Bogdan. Who had expressed gratitude towards Raducanu prior to the match.

 “Of, course, even to me [what she did was inspirational],” Bogdan said as per reports on TennisHead.

“I said to myself that everything is possible, everything is achievable if you work hard and if you believe, if you are positive, you can do it.” 

Raducanu one match away from facing Halep in semis

In the Transylvania Open quarterfinals, Emma Raducanu will face WTA no. 55 Marta Kostyuk.

To reach the quarterfinals, Kostyuk defeated both Bernarda Pera of the United States and Mona Barthel of Germany in straight sets.

Emma Raducanu has a good chance of seeing Simona Halep in the semifinals of the Transylvania Open. If she defeats Kostyuk in the quarterfinals.

However, Halep must overcome Varvara Gracheva and Jaqueline Cristian. In order to face the US Open champion in a gleaming semifinal.
