Ferrer reveals what Raducanu has to do – “Most important thing is to handle pressure”

David Ferrer revealed what Emma Raducanu has to do in the future for her success to not tail off.

Raducanu stunned the world at the US Open in 2021 when she won the tournament. It was the biggest breakout moment in tennis in quite a while, and the positive things that came with it is what the teenager is basking in.

It’s easy to forget that she is not even 20 years old. Her talent and discipline are way beyond her years, and the world is in her hands at the moment. However, what matters is how she performs in the future.

Ferrer revealed what Raducanu has to do in the future to stay at the top of the mountain.

“She has a great future, but the most important thing is to handle the pressure because it won’t be easy when you’re young and you’ve just won a Grand Slam,” he said, as quoted by Tennis World USA.

“We’ll see how she handles the pressure next year.

“It’s going to be really important for her, but she has an amazing talent and can win (more) Grand Slams in her career.”

All-round praise

Tennis personalities Tomas Berdych also praised Raducanu, and said that her star is shining bright.

“She’s a young face of the new generation,” Berdych said.

“There was a generation of Serena and Venus Williams where they won multiple Slams and then it was only recently we’ve seen many different Grand Slam winners. Raducanu is fresh, so I think the way she played in New York was incredible.

“She managed to keep herself focused, so why not? She has a chance of winning many titles. It would be great for women’s tennis. What I learned from my career, you’re the only one who stands on court.”
