Over the last few years, the new generation in men’s tennis has been generating miraculous successes, as evidenced by the ascent of players like Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas, among others.
Another youngster, Jannik Sinner, has recently demonstrated that he is deserving of carrying on the legacy of greats such as Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer.
In the finals of the 2021 European Open, the young Italian stunned Diego Schwartzman to win his fifth ATP championship of the season.
In the final, Schwartzman had no chance against Sinner, who appeared to be destined to win.
The Italian prodigy won the Sofia Open just a few weeks ago, defeating the likes of Filip Krajinovic and Gael Monfils.
Sinner, who won the title in Antwerp today, has already won five tour-level titles as a 20-year-old this year.
Jannik Sinner will undoubtedly be one of the players to watch in the next years. The Italian achieved an astounding record. That is currently held by Novak Djokovic as a result of his five ATP victories.
Djokovic had a fantastic ATP season in 2007
Djokovic, being 19 years old, won his fifth ATP circuit title in 2007 by winning the clay-court event in Estoril, Portugal.
In fact, it was in that year that the Serbian won two Masters 1000 championships. Before breaking through at a number of majors.
Only Jannik Sinner, after the Serb, is the youngest athlete to win five titles in a calendar year.
In 2020, the child won a solitary title in Sofia, and this year he added trophies in Melbourne, Washington, Sofia, and Antwerp.
Per @ATPMediaInfo: Sinner is the youngest player to win his 5th tour-level title since 19 y/o Djokovic in 2007!

Sinner’s performance at Masters tournaments and other events. Despite the fact that he has yet to make an impression at slams, is sufficient proof of his skill.
The Italian will compete in the Erste Bank Open in Vienna next. Where he will play Reilly Opelka in the first round.
